 Description: We are in the centre of Medieval Tuscany, on a hill (404 m. above the sea level) in the middle of an uncontaminated country side. This is where the woods finish and an immense panorama open out on the Val d?Orcia and the Crete senesi. Il Colle di Trequanda: The oldest part is the "Ermitorium S. Egidii de Querciola. In 1592 Claudio Socino built the chapel and part of the present Villa. During the centuries the Colle villa was ampliefied and enriched so as to adapt it for the nobelmen hunters who stayed there during the winter, and to welcome Peter Leopold of Hapsburg (1747-1792) who made out of it his secret refuge. The Grand Duke of Tuscany and successevely Emperor of Austria, Peter Leopold was howerver an incurable ladies?man. He often stayed at Colle,where he was joined soon by the Contessina Isabella with her long black hair and large romantic eyes. |

Hospitaliity: The estate has 19 farm holidays apartments. The smallest sleep 2 people and the largest 14. The minimum time is one night. The apartments have been created in the main Villa and in the old farmhouses, their decoration reflects the simplicity and colture of the area with its antique furniture, comfortable rather then luxurious. Each apartment is made up of one or more bedrooms, sitting room with a cooking area and at least one bathroom with shower. Indipendent central heating.

Activities and Services: Guest have the use of three swimming pools (beginning of june, end september), a tennis court, a table tennis, and six mountain bikes, two equipped gardens, one with games for children, three walking routes starts from the farm. During the summer there is an entertainment program for the whole week, which is shortned in the winter. It includes a visit to the Brunello winery in Montalcino, a lesson on extravirgin olive oil, a visit to the historical parts of the Fattoria del Colle, the archers route. Television and telephone are available next to the reception. A housekeeper is always there on the farm to solve guest?s problems. |
